Welcome to She Oak Jewelry Design!
Each piece of bentwood jewelry is handcrafted using native or exotic wood veneer. Using veneer as a medium for jewelry allows beautiful species of wood to be formed into shapes, and then laminated or stabilized. This results in one-of-a-kind pieces that are delicate yet durable; maintaining the essence of a solid piece of wood.
Much care is taken to select quality materials that highlight the grain and "figure", the special or unusual markings, of the wood. You'll find straight grain, burls, ribbon stripes and more. Since only small pieces are needed to complete a project, unused scrap wood from veneer dealers or local woodworkers is used when possible.
Everything is made locally in my studio in Connecticut.
